Each year, the area legislators
make critical policy decisions that impact our industry - decisions affecting how we do business,
the choices we can give to our clients, and many other areas. It is essential that all IIAMC Members are engaged with legislators
and informed of these critical issues.Plan now to attend the IIAMC Legislative
Luncheon on Friday, March 12th, 2010.
During this event, Michael Barrett, IIABNY Legislative Representative, will be presenting the IIABNY Position Paper in order for our members and local legislators to gain insight into the critical issues facing us. All area legislators
have receive a formal invitation, but we ask that you call your local legislators and extend to them a

luncheon, and your effort is appreciated!

NYSID Wants To Know Which Regulations You Don’t Like - Talk to them about Producer Compensation Disclosure! The New York State Insurance Department is asking the public to tell it what is wrong with insurance
regulation. A notice posted on the department’s Web site on March 9 stated: "Pursuant to Executive Order No. 25, the New York State Insurance
Department invites comments from regulated entities and interested parties to identify existing regulations that impose unnecessary,
burdensome or excessive costs, paperwork, reporting or other requirements. "Comments
are sought that describe and quantify the burden and suggest appropriate remedies that the agency may undertake to eliminate
or amend regulations that are unnecessary, unbalanced, unwise, duplicative or unduly burdensome."
The department is asking respondents to submit their comments no later than May 24.
Comments may be submitted by e-mail to Elizabeth Barrett, Esq. of the Insurance Department’s Office of General Counsel and to the Governor’s Office of Regulatory Reform. Respondents may also send their comments by U.S. mail at the address shown in the Web site posting.
